CHI Health Immanuel Medical Center Alegent/Immanuel Residential Treatment Center in Omaha, Nebraska

This place created a lot if trauma for me. I was always in trouble for crying. And I knew a guy that was there with me that I went to school with and he killed himself there. He told them he wasn't okay, several of the other patients told staff he was going to hurt himself. One day he lifted up the heavy wooden bed and let it drop on his head. I heard it and was hysterical. The paramedics came and was doing cpr then took him to the er. They refused to tell me if he was alive and I was never informed of the funeral either. I was talked to by the police as well. And I was not allowed to talk about it to anyone. I left and I found out through a friend of his passing. The staff kept it all hush-hush. Rest in peace R. July of 2015.

This place is horrifying. !!!Seriously, do not send your children here!!!! They drug you up, force religion down your throat, teach you to literally hate yourself, while trying to fit you into box (that you will never fit into because you're unquie and that's okay!) They should be teaching these kids to love and accept themselves, but instead they make you believe you are broken, worthless. All the staff were on crazy powertrips and treated the kids like criminals. I was in juvie once and the staff treated you more like humans there, then in this place. And its like none of these kids were bad, they were all just soooo sad, but were constantly being punished for it. They do give you music, art, and other coping mechanisms but just take it away when you need it the most? You feel constantly trapped, isolated, with 0 outdoor time (why would you not give sad kids sunlight!!!) They discourage friendship also??? This place leaves you more messed up then when you come in. It made my ptsd so bad that I was to afraid to go outside, or get in a car for awhile after, tho I never had those problem beforehand. Last thing I wanna say is I met this beautiful empath girl during my stay, she had a light so damn bright, and RIP her beautiful soul. She commited suicide. I realllllly hold this place partially accountable for that. I also didn't see a single therapist, staff, teacher, ect at her funeral. Excuse my language but f*** all those people. I'm sure no one lost sleep. !!DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!
