The stadium would not only be home to Nebraska's first and only professional soccer club but also host a new women's team and youth training academy to keep the state's top soccer talent home. Union Omaha, Nebraska's only professional soccer team, hopes to build a stadium in Omaha. Currently, the team plays at Werner Park in Sarpy County, which is also home to the Omaha Storm Chasers, a minor league baseball team.
